Since 1976, the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Dallas has provided personalized, comprehensive care for patients with all types of cancer. We offer advanced screening, prevention, diagnostic and treatment services, as well as comprehensive education and support programs. We work to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and families.Physicians on the medical staff at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas are at the forefront of many advances in oncology patient care, education and research. They work together across disciplines, along with the dedicated staff members to provide each patient compassionate, high-quality care with advanced screening, prevention, diagnostic and treatment methods.
To help you coordinate and understand your care, the Baylor Sammons Access Center provides a nurse coordinator and Access representative to:
- Help with self referrals
- Answer general cancer questions
- Coordinate referrals to our multi-disciplinary team of surgical oncologists, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists
- Provide links to a wide range of clinical research trials
- Prepare you for your first appointment at Baylor Sammons by assisting with appointment scheduling and medical records collection
- Provide information to make your visit easier, including directions, and information on parking, transportation and hotel accommodations
- Coordinate supportive care services
The Sammons Cancer Center is a Center of Excellence and an accredited cancer program through the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Throughout our program are additional Centers of Excellence that treat specific types of cancer, including breast, lung, bone and soft tissue and colon-rectal cancers, as well as myeloma, leukemia and lymphomas. Many patients with liver (biliary) cancer and hepatomas also benefit from Baylor's Liver and Pancreas Center, another Center of Excellence.
