At Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie we know that families and caregivers play a vital role in the support and care of our patients.  We know you have questions as you prepare for your visit to our facilities, so we compiled some of our most frequently asked questions.

Where will I sleep while I'm staying with a patient at Baylor Waxahachie?

Each patient room is equipped with a chair that makes into a bed.  The nursing staff will be happy to assist you in making the bed and providing linens for the pull out bed.

What are the general guidelines for visiting patients?

Visitors can be good medicine for patients. Family members and friends are welcome to visit. 

• Baylor Waxahachie is a smoke-free campus and therefore smoking is not permitted in patient rooms or anywhere on our campus.
• People with colds, sore throats, or flu like symptoms should not visit.
• Shirts and shoes are required.
• Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments or when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient.
• Access to Baylor Waxahachie is limited after 9 p.m.  Should a caregiver or family member need to come to or leave the hospital after 9 p.m you will need to enter and exit through the emergency department.  
• Visitors seeing a patient in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) may be asked to limit your visiting time to 15 minutes and visit in small groups.

May I bring food, flowers and gifts to the patient? 

Many of our patients are on a restricted diet or susceptible to infection while they are in our care at Baylor Waxahachie. Because of this, it is very important that you ask the nurse if it is appropriate to bring food and drink, gifts and flowers to the patient. 

Do you have a gift shop? 

Yes, Baylor Waxahachie has a gift shop located on the first floor of the hospital.  The gift shop is open from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Mon-Sat and offers a variety of items including jewelry, flowers, greeting cards, candy, and toiletries.  Credit cards, local checks and cash are accepted.

Where can I get something to eat?   

The Park View Cafe is located on the first floor of the hospital near the South Lobby Elevators.  The cafe offers a variety of items including a grill station, salad bar and hot entree specials including a daily healthy entree option.  Coffee and tea are complementary to patients and their guest.  The complementary beverage station can be found to your right as you enter the Parkview Cafe.

Cafe Hours:

• Weekdays from 6:30 a.m.-6:15 p.m.
• Weekends 7:00 a.m.-6:15 p.m. 
• Vending machines are located on the first floor near the ICU family room

Do you have an ATM on campus?

Yes, an ATM machine is located on the first floor of the hospital in the vending machine area next to the ICU family room.

Where should I park?

If you are arriving for surgery, outpatient testing, or to visit a patient, it is best to park near our main entrance. Those parking lots are located at the intersection of West Jefferson and Pulaski Streets. 

If you are visiting a patient in our ICU or need Medical Records, it is best to park near our North entrance. Those parking lots are at the corner of West Jefferson and Grand Streets.

Do you have a chapel or could I visit with a Chaplain?

Baylor Waxahachie has a chapel located on the first floor near Information Services.  You may also contact a Chaplain at (972.923.7373.

Nearest Pharmacy, Wal Mart and Target?

There is a pharmacy located directly across from the hospital at the corner of West Jefferson and Grand Street that is open Mon. - Fri. from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. The nearest 24-hour pharmacy is at Walgreen's located at 1201 Ferris Ave. Waxahachie, TX 75165.

Walmart and Target are located near the Hwy 287 and Hwy77 Business (Ferris Ave.) intersection.

Nearby Hotels

Baylor Waxahachie has preferred rates with Hampton Inn and Suites.  The rate is $69 plus tax. Just mention the Baylor Waxahachie rate when making a reservation.
