Heart Failure Accreditation

Baylor Plano has received Heart Failure Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC), an international not-for-profit organization that focuses on transforming cardiovascular care by assisting facilities in their effort to create communities of excellence that bring together quality, cost and patient satisfaction.

American Society of Breast Surgeons Foundation Grant

The Baylor Plano Oncology Team received a grant from the American Society of Breast Surgeons Foundation for community outreach to the Douglas Community in Plano. This grant will allow the oncology team to provide breast cancer self exam education to the people of the Douglas Community.

Designated Primary Level II Stroke Facility

The State of Texas and The Joint Commission have designated Baylor Plano as a Primary (Level II) Stroke Facility. This designation is valid until June 1, 2015.

Baylor Plano Named Best Hospital in Plano/Frisco

Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano was named Best Hospital, Best Emergency Department and Best Rehabilitation Center in Plano and Frisco by the readers of Living Magazine.

Press Ganey® Summit Award®

The Summit Award® is given for patient satisfaction as recognition of Baylor Plano reaching and sustaining a high level of customer satisfaction for three consecutive years.

Gold Seal of Approval for Joint Replacement

Baylor Plano has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ for our Hip and Knee Replacement Programs. This certification was achieved by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s high national standards for health care quality and safety in disease-specific care.

Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award

Date Awarded: March 2011
The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons has granted its Outstanding Achievement Award to Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano as a result of surveys performed during 2010. Baylor Plano is one of a select group of 90 currently accredited and newly accredited cancer programs across the United States and one of two programs in Texas to receive this recognition.

Date Awarded: February 2011
Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano has been granted a three-year/Full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. Baylor Plano is the only hospital in Collin County accredited by the NAPBC.

Accredited Comprehensive Cancer Program

Date Awarded: June 2010
The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) has granted Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation to the Cancer Program at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano. In addition, accredited cancer programs are assigned an Accreditation Category that describes the services available at the facility. Baylor Plano is the only hospital in Collin County to be designated a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program. This level of accreditation means that a facility treats 650 or more cancer patients each year and provides a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services available on site.

Texas Award for Performance Excellence

Patterned after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award criteria and process, the Texas Award for Performance Excellence is an annual recognition of Texas organizations that have achieved performance excellence and applied outstanding quality principles in their day-to-day operations. The award is presented to organizations that serve as role models for quality, customer satisfaction, and performance excellence in the state of Texas.

Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Achievement Award

Baylor Plano received a Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Achievement Award from TMF Health Quality Institute, the Medicare quality improvement organization for Texas.

Designated as a Safe Surgery Checklist Mentor Hospital

Date Awarded: July 2009
Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano was chosen as a World Health Organization Safe Surgery Checklist Mentor Hospital by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). As an IHI mentor hospital, Baylor Plano is available to answer questions other hospitals may have about the checklist. The medical center piloted the Safe Surgery Checklist before it was implemented in operating rooms across the Baylor Health Care System and is now being contacted by other hospitals with questions about how to best implement the checklist at their own organizations.

Baylor Plano was awarded a $31,500 grant by the North Texas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure to deliver education, breast health services and digital screening mammograms to an underserved population of women who historically do not seek early detection, prevention, or breast health education.
