Specialists on staff at the Liver Mass Clinic, located on the Baylor Medical Center at Irving main campus, are dedicated to streamlining the diagnosis of unusual liver masses.
Liver cancer is the fifth most common type of cancer, yet traditional liver mass diagnosis might involve ongoing observation and repeated radiologic studies. The Baylor Irving Liver Mass Clinic seeks to reduce the anxiety of not knowing with the goal of seeing patients within a week of referral..
Testing to Treatment
After initial testing, patients with a suspicious liver mass who have a history of cancer meet with an interventional radiologist to see if more tests or a biopsy is needed. If surgery is required, a general surgeon is available for consultation, and we work with the patient’s oncologist to develop an effective plan of treatment.
Patients with no history of cancer will also see our interventional radiologist for further tests or a biopsy if necessary. After a liver mass diagnosis, we will work with a general surgeon and oncologist to guide the patient along an effective path of treatment.
If surgery or extensive testing is required, we will notify the patient’s doctor. Our Team
