The skilled therapists at the Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation (BIR) Outpatient Services clinic on Walter Reed Blvd. in Garland offer a variety of therapy services for patients suffering from physical conditions related to aging, gender, illness and injury.

Our goal is to provide the high quality treatment and compassionate service needed to improve quality of life.

    Clinic Hours:

    Monday - Thursday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    Friday: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Our Staff

    Center Manager: Carey Hammon, MS, CCC-SLP
    Carey received her bachelor's in speech/language pathology and audiology from Northern Arizona University in 1992 and her master's in speech/language pathology in 1994. She has experience in the evaluation and treatment of speech/language disorders, cognitive deficits, dysphagia, voice, facial e-stim needs and articulation errors. She became certified as a Vital Stimulation provider in 2005 and is qualified to perform and interpret dysphagiagrams for ages 3-years-old to geriatrics. 

    Physical Therapist: Sarabeth Clopton, PT, DPT
    Sarabeth received a BS in Exercise & Sport Sciences from Texas Tech University in 2010 and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Hardin-Simmons University in 2012. She also is certified in LSVT BIG therapy to restore balance, endurance and function in patients with Parkinson’s disease. Her clinical interests include rehab for neurological conditions and orthopedics. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the organization’s Texas chapter.

    Physical Therapist: Samantha Demars, PT, DPT
    Samantha holds a BS in Kinesiology- Human Movement from Louisiana State University and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from LSU Health Science Center in 2013. Her clinical interests include orthopedic rehabilitation with a focus on post surgical rehabilitation of extremities and sports rehabilitation. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the organization’s Texas chapter.

    Physical Therapist: Jacob Girlinghouse, PT, DPT
    Jacob obtained his BS in Exercise Science from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2009 and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Texas Woman's University in 2013. His clinical interests include orthopedic rehabilitation of biomechanical dysfunction of the spine and extremities. He is a member of the Orthopedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Texas Physical Therapy Association.

    Physical Therapist: Brian Graf, PT, DPT
    Brian received his bachelor’s degree in Pre-Physical Therapy from the University of Central Missouri in 2007, and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University in 2011. He is certified to perform functional capacity evaluations and post-offer employment exams. He is pursuing advancements in manual therapy techniques. His clinical interests include orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation.

    Physical Therapist: Ami Sheth, PT, MPT
    Ami received a master’s in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 2007. She has been an outpatient physical therapist at BIR-Garland for three-and-a-half years. Ami is certified in Functional Capacity Evaluation and pursuing training for Post-Offer Employment Testing. She treats orthopedic, post surgical, neurological, vestibular/balance patients.

    Occupational Therapist: Tyra Anderson
    Tyra graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy and a minor in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University. Her clinical interests include design and fabrication of custom orthotics and adaptive equipment to increase functional independence. Tyra is a member of Phi Theta Epsilon Honor Society/Sorority. 

    Rehabilitation Technician: Kathy Sharum
    Kathy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, majoring in Dance, from Texas Tech University.  She has been with BIR Garland for 16 years. Kathy’s clinical interests include the After Care Exercise Program and exercise classes.
