2007 Awards
TMF Quality Improvement Achievement Award for AMI and CHF
Awarded by the Texas Medical Foundation for exemplary performance in
managing patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and patients with
congestive heart failure (CHF).
Veteran’s Health Administration (VHA) Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence
Awarded to organizations that have demonstrated excellence in surgical
infection prevention based on national performance standards.
Voluntary Hospitals of America Award for Clinical Excellence in Surgical Care Infection Prevention
Awarded to hospitals that have demonstrated exemplary CMS
core-measure performance in prevention of post-op infections.
Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Award of Excellence
Awarded by the Texas Medical Foundation Health Quality Institute to
hospitals that have improved their initial baseline performance on national
quality measures related to acute myocardial infarction, heart failure and
pneumonia.
American Diabetes Association Recognition
Awarded to the Baylor Diabetes Center, one of the largest multi-site
programs in the country, to designate recognition for another three years.
ADA recognition is necessary for diabetes self-management training
reimbursement from Medicare.
Texas Nurses Association’s 100 Great Nurses
Awarded to the following individual nurses for leadership, compassion
and community service, and for making significant contributions to
the nursing industry.

Awarded by the Society of Chest Pain Centers for adherence to best
practices in caring for patients with acute coronary syndrome based on
stringent criteria and on-site evaluations. Only 9 percent of hospitals
nationwide are accredited.
