Baylor Pharmacy Information
**Labor and delivery admission information is at the bottom of this page.
There are two steps to hospital admissions: registration (the administrative side) and preparation/testing (the medical side). The purpose of the two-step process is to ensure patients are well prepared for surgery or a procedure before they are admitted.
This is a team approach so you may receive multiple calls beforehand asking for additional, or verification of, health and financial information:
To help make things run smoother on your day of surgery, we encourage you to schedule a pre-admission testing appointment. The appointment may occur in person or by telephone, depending on the testing already completed by your physician.
During the pre-admission testing appointment, a registered nurse will review:
If you’re scheduled for an in-person appointment:
If your surgery requires an in-person appointment, you will be scheduled to arrive at the Registration and Admitting Office, which is located on the first floor of Jonsson Hospital. There you will be checked in and asked for photo identification and insurance information.
You will meet with a registered nurse to have vital signs taken and review pertinent medical history. Your physician or surgeon may have ordered additional tests to be done which MAY include some or all of the following, depending on your surgical procedure and current health condition:
Patient drop-off and pick-up is convenient in the circle driveway at Jonsson Hospital. There is a blue light that illuminates the outside of the building and serves as a distinct landmark to help you find the correct entrance in the dark. The address of the entrance is 3501 Junius St. for the purpose of online/GPS navigation tools.
Staff from the hospital’s business office will call to arrange your admission to the hospital. They will assist you in completing insurance paperwork, discussing deductibles, co-payments or out-of-pocket expenses.
You may also start the process by completing some documents beforehand, online by using Baylor's online registration program.
