There are two steps to hospital admissions: Registration (the administrative paperwork) and Preparation/Testing (the clinical testing). The purpose of the two-step process is to ensure you are well prepared for surgery or a procedure before you are admitted.
This is a team approach so you may receive multiple calls beforehand asking for additional, or verification of, health and financial information:
Your surgeon will advise you when to arrive at the hospital; how they would like to you prepare; advise you on eating before surgery and medication restrictions.
Documenting your current and past medical history is necessary prior to surgery. You will receive a telephone call from a Pre-Admission Nurse with important instructions and information.
Forms that assist with your hospital admission, insurance paperwork, and payment arrangements can be completed electronically or staff from the hospital’s business office will assist you during the pre-admission process.
To help expedite the process, click here to use Baylor's online registration program. Items that will assist in the process:
If you have questions, or would like to pre-register by phone, please call 214.818.9700 to speak to a representative from the Baylor University Medical Center's Business Services department.
Patients that complete the Pre-Admission process (medical history and related testing), Pre-Registration process (admitting paperwork and insurance documentation) and have paid all out of pocket fees prior to surgery can participate in our FastTrack program, bypassing appointments the morning of surgery and expediting admission.
Patient drop-off and pick-up is convenient in the circle driveway at Jonsson Hospital. The address of the entrance is 3501 Junius St. for the purpose of online/GPS navigation tools. Campus Wayfinding Video
