Challenging pulmonary diseases and conditions, such as asthma, emphysema and chronic bronchitis cause pulmonary dysfunction and progressive debilitation over time. The Pulmonary Care Program at Baylor Specialty Hospital offers technologically advanced therapies, as well as bedside bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing to help each patient breathe easier and achieve results.
Respiratory and rehabilitative therapies are provided seven days a week
Treatment can include therapy to decrease symptoms and improve physical condition and endurance to regain as much independence as possible.
Each patient is also taught how to control and manage his or her condition.
This eight-bed unit provides specialized care for more medically complex patients, including those with extensive pulmonary or cardiac challenges. Cardiac monitoring, a higher staffing ratio per patient, bedside dialysis and a full range of rehabilitative therapies are available.
