Education

We're Big on Education

At Baylor, we’re big on education. You’ll find many opportunities here to learn and grow throughout your career. Here’s a look at some of our education opportunities in nursing and allied health careers:

Nursing

Graduate nurses can begin the career of a lifetime with our paid internships in 13 medical specialties. You’ll work beside excellent physicians, educators and preceptors to build your skills and confidence to smoothly transition from the classroom to a clinical setting. Internships also are open to nurses who want to change specialties or to those who want to return to their careers after a long absence.

  • To help our nurse leaders develop to their fullest potential, Baylor is developing a Nurse Leadership Academy and Fellowship for Nursing Administration. The academy will provide a convenient and inexpensive way for nurses at the supervisor level and above to develop leadership skills and prepare for advancement opportunities. The fellowship program will help prepare high-potential nurse leaders for vice president and chief nursing officer positions.
  • Our tuition reimbursement program – up to $5,250 a year – helps you change careers or earn an advanced degree.
  • We offer continuing education classes for most licensed clinical professionals – with most classes available at no cost – and support for certification.

Allied Health

We provide several educational opportunities in certain allied health areas:

  • We offer a Radiology Allied Health School on the campus of Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas that features two full-time, hospital-based programs in radiologic sciences and nuclear medicine technology.
  • A one-year Pharmacy Residency Program and a Dietetic Internship Program are also offered at Baylor Dallas.
